Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
The mission of the Bullock County Schools Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Department is to provide caring and supportive programs that help every child grow both emotionally and academically. We focus on creating a safe, positive environment where all students can succeed and feel valued. Our vision is to help students build important life skills that prepare them for success in school and beyond. We aim to develop confident, kind, and responsible young people by focusing on:
- Self-Awareness: Understanding feelings, strengths, and challenges.
- Self-Management: Learning how to handle emotions, manage stress, and stay on track with goals.
- Responsible Decision-Making: Making safe, respectful, and thoughtful choices.
- Relationship Skills: Building strong friendships, working well with others, and solving problems peacefully.
- Social Awareness: Showing empathy, kindness, and respect for everyone in our community.
When students are socially and emotionally supported, they are more ready to learn, grow, and succeed.

ThriveWay
Bullock County Schools uses ThriveWay to support our Peer Helper Program and school-wide social-emotional learning efforts. ThriveWay helps students build leadership skills, improve communication, and learn how to make positive choices.
For staff, ThriveWay offers training and tools to support students’ emotional well-being and help create a supportive school culture. It’s one of the many ways we work together to ensure that every child feels seen, heard, and supported.
