Special Education

The Special Education Department of Bullock County Schools is committed to providing a high-quality, individualized education for students with disabilities in an inclusive and supportive environment. We believe that all students can learn, grow, and thrive when given the appropriate tools, resources, and support to meet their unique needs. Our department serves eligible students from ages 3 to 21, in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Alabama state guidelines. We offer a wide range of services, including academic support, speech and language therapy, occupational and physical therapy, behavior interventions, and transition planning for post-secondary success.

We work closely with parents, teachers, service providers, and community agencies to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals. Our mission is to empower students with disabilities to reach their full potential in both academic and social settings, ensuring they are prepared for life beyond the classroom.

The Special Education Department is dedicated to fostering an environment of inclusion, equity, and respect, where every child is valued and given the opportunity to succeed.
