Bullock County is located in southeastern Alabama, nestled between Montgomery and the communities that line the scenic Highway 82 corridor. Known for its rich history, strong community values, and rural charm, Bullock County offers a peaceful environment rooted in Southern tradition. The county seat, Union Springs, is often referred to as the "Field Trial Capital of the World" and serves as the heart of cultural and civic life in the area.The Bullock County School District serves students across a predominantly rural area that spans approximately 625 square miles. The district is committed to fostering academic excellence, equity, and opportunity for all students, with a focus on both college and career readiness. Our schools offer comprehensive educational programs from Kindergarten through 12th grade, with specialized services tailored to meet the needs of a diverse student population.

We are proud to serve a student population that reflects the diversity of Bullock County. According to recent census data, the county has a population of approximately 10,000 residents. The demographics include a majority African-American population, along with White, Hispanic, and other ethnic groups that enrich the cultural fabric of our schools and community. A significant portion of our students qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, and through USDA and state programs, we are able to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students, ensuring no child goes hungry during the school day.

The Bullock County School District partners with local businesses, civic leaders, and higher education institutions to create meaningful educational and career pathways. These partnerships help provide resources, mentorship, and enrichment opportunities for both students and staff. Institutions such as Tuskegee University, Alabama State University, and Trenholm State Community College are located within driving distance and play an active role in supporting dual enrollment, professional development, and academic enrichment.

We are a recipient of funding from several state and federal programs, including the Alabama Reading Initiative, which supports early literacy through instructional coaching and teacher training. At the secondary level, our schools offer career technical education, dual enrollment opportunities, and academic courses designed to challenge and inspire students.

The Bullock County Board of Education, along with our superintendent, administrators, faculty, and staff, remain deeply committed to the success of every student. With roughly 150 employees and a student enrollment of approximately 1300, our district fosters a close-knit educational community where every learner is known, valued, and supported.
